Today Ukraine celebrates the Day of Defenders and Defenders of Ukraine. This is a fairly new Ukrainian holiday. This is a day dedicated to respect for the past and present military heroes of Ukraine who fought for its freedom.
At the same time, today is the Day of the Ukrainian Cossacks.
In our opinion, this is not a coincidence at all. The Cossack spirit lives in each of our defenders and defenders. The spirit that for many centuries has forced Ukrainians to defend their native land and protect it from enemies. The spirit that encourages you to defend the state and the desire to live freely in your country. The spirit that creates our independent democratic society. We are proud of him!
Today we thank each of our defenders, who often at the cost of their own lives protect the territorial integrity of our country, the opportunity to live safely on their land, defend our independence and sovereignty.
For the first time today's holiday was celebrated on October 14, 2014 under the slogan "The Power of the Unbowed". This year the Ukrainians are proving it. All people.
And as President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky once said that "each of us is the President", today we want to say that each of us is a Defender!
