Why constructive is important?

Sometimes it happens that during the operation of electrical installations as a result of the accident, the whole cell fails, and even the bus section of the switchgear.

The causes of such accidents can be several:

  • line short circuit;
  • fault;
  • overvoltage.

It should also be noted that the time of such an accident is very small - less than 1s, and the consequences are significant. When designing and then ordering, few people pay attention to such a cell parameter as compartment separation.

Therefore, let us consider the occurrence of an accident more specifically on the basis of two types of external service cells (MVC) without division and with division into compartments.
Classic for our present external service cell 393 series in which all power equipment is in one compartment, with sections of relay equipment in a separate box.

This is a very easy-to-use and manufactured cell, but if an accident occurs, most of the equipment will be "smoked," or even worse, its complete exit from work. (See photo). Next, you need everything that is written down to wash, paint or replace. That is, a long downtime in power supply is possible.

However, there is an alternative - MVC cell with divided compartments.
This cell has functionally 4 compartments:

  • relay;
  • cable connection compartment;
  • vacuum switch compartment;
  • busbar compartment.

This allows you to localize the accident site and keep the equipment in other compartments safe and sound.

A small difference in the design, which allows you to save your time and make the power supply more reliable.
