Block complete transformer substations in a reinforced concrete casing

The substations are designed to receive, convert and distribute electricity of three-phase alternating current with a frequency of 50 Hz and a voltage of 10(6) kV for radial or ring power supply schemes of city networks.

EDS-POWER's block transformer substations meet the power supply requirements of large industrial facilities, residential, infrastructure, logistics complexes, elevators and oil depots. They are used instead of the construction of closed transformer substations. The concrete casing perfectly protects electrical equipment from weather effects and unauthorized intrusions.

The concrete casing for complete transformer substations is made of high-strength reinforced concrete products, which provide the structure with high quality characteristics. The concrete transformer substation has a removable roof, which allows equipment to be accessed through the top of the structure.

Features of the concrete building structure of the prefabricated complete transformer substation:

The building of the prefabricated transformer substation is a monolithic reinforced concrete product, including the above-ground part and the foundation, the complete structure is complemented by a removable roof. The layout of the building of the block transformer substation includes slots for the installation of high and low voltage switchgear, transformer compartments, cable passages, as well as hatches for access to key connectors and components. The underground part of the concrete structure is coated with a special composition that seals the product (bitumen).

All substations are made of high-strength reinforced concrete with the following characteristics

  • concrete grade B-35;
  • concrete class in terms of compressive strength - B35 (458 kgf/cm2);
  • concrete grade for frost resistance - F200;
  • water resistance - W4.

The 100 mm wall thickness and high quality of concrete ensure durability, heat resistance and prevent the formation of dew inside the substation. All building elements are made of non-combustible materials. Oil collectors under the transformer are designed for 100% of the oil quantity of the installed transformers.

Other design features Block complete transformer substations:

  • The presence of a sloping roof (from 2 to 4 planes) for precipitation runoff behind the building, we use a profiled steel sheet with polymer powder coating.
  • The BCTP must have free holes in the base unit for draining mineral oil from transformers.
  • The metal elements of the case, including the frame of the transformer compartment mounting gate, are covered with an anti-corrosion coating.
  • An internal grounding circuit made of steel rod was installed.
  • The ventilation dampers are equipped with nets against the penetration of rodents and insects with a mesh size of no more than 10*10 mm.

Thanks to the wide range of colors for painting the exterior walls, the complete substation can be harmoniously integrated into the surrounding architecture:

All substations are delivered to the installation site in a highly finished state by road. After installation, it is only necessary to mount the transformer, connect the cables and the grounding system.

Equipment Block complete transformer substations, variants:

The most common schemes are with one or two transformers, but the number can be up to 6 units or more. One unit is divided into compartments that combine equipment by purpose. The division depends on the technical specifications and operating conditions. The part of the unit transformer substations where maintenance is required and control and measuring equipment is located is allocated to a separate compartment to avoid unnecessary contact of personnel with high-voltage equipment.

Block complete transformer substations include the following functional components:

  • high-voltage switchgear cells with switching equipment and emergency protection devices;
  • electrical cabinets to meet the own needs of the substation (heating, ventilation, lighting);
  • power transformer compartment to ensure voltage reduction and its transmission to consumers;
  • low-voltage switchgear cells that provide distribution and protection of outgoing lines;
  • cable or busbar input of high voltage.

Advantages of our block transformer substations

  • Significant savings in time and financial resources when designing the construction and electrical parts of the transformer substation, project approval, and construction work.
  • Functionality due to small dimensions and free access to 10 kV and 0.4 kV switchgear through a common service corridor.
  • The casing is made of monolithic concrete of class B 35 with a wall thickness of 100 mm - it is a simple and reliable design with excellent thermal characteristics that prevent the formation of dew.
  •  Complete environmental safety due to the tightness of the foundation, which prevents possible penetration of transformer oil into the ground.
  •  Multivariant switchgear 10(6) kV and 0.4 kV.
  • Time saving during on-site installation due to the high degree of readiness - it is necessary to install the transformer and connect the cables.
  •  A wide range of exterior wall finishes, roof structures, and drainage systems.

Application for calculation of the commercial offer (COP) - QUESTIONNAIRE

It is possible to buy Block complete transformer substations based on the technical report and key requirements. When selecting the basic criteria, the operating conditions, mobility, modernization capability, rated power, and the degree of protection against external influences of various kinds are taken into account.

The solution is delivered on a turnkey basis with subsequent installation and connection. Individual financial terms of cooperation are available for wholesale customers. Available substations can be flexibly modified to meet the requirements.

It is worth noting that a transformer substation, the price of which is based on the market value of its component parts and devices, cannot be priced below the total cost of its components. For this reason, each block complete transformer substation is manufactured in accordance with the questionnaire and technical specifications filled in by the customer.
