General information, scope of application
Complete switchgear units of the Prime Power 40.5 type (35 kV switchgear) are designed to receive and distribute electrical energy of three-phase alternating current with a frequency of 50 Hz and a voltage of 35 kV in networks with an isolated or grounded neutral through an arc suppression reactor.
They are used in 35 kV switchgear as part of various types of Complete transformer substation110/35/6(10) kV, separately located 35 kV switchgear. The switchgear is completed with separate cabinets of F-40.5 switchgear, each of which houses equipment for one connection to the 35 kV busbars of the switchgear.
Field of application of the switchgear
GIS are used as switchgear in power plants, transformer substations and distribution centres in various industries, including:
- Power industry;
- Oil and gas industry;
- Agricultural industry;
- Metallurgical industry;
- Mechanical engineering;
- Chemical and petrochemical industry.

Main technical characteristics
Cabinets for switchgear F-40.5 equipped with switches - manufactured by Schneider Electric, ABB, Eaton and other leading manufacturers of high-voltage equipment.
The F-40.5 switchgear is manufactured for indoor installation in a permanent structure, as well as for outdoor installation in a modular insulated unit of the Complete outdoor switchgear type, equipped with heating, fire extinguishing, ventilation, and fire and security alarm systems.
Each section of the modular building is a fully assembled unit, which reduces the time and material costs for the construction of a 35 kV switchgear.
F-40.5 switchgear cabinets comply with TU U 31.0-43869987-003:2021 and DSTU EN 62271-200:2016.
Climate version U3 according to ISO 15150-69.
The degree of protection of the cabinets is IP20 according to DSTU EN 60529:2014.

Switchgear cabinet F-40.5 — metal prefabricated structure of frame-panel type, made of high-quality steel sheet on high-precision equipment with built-in high voltage equipment, as well as measuring, signalling, protection and control devices.
The compartments of the vacuum circuit breaker, cable connections and busbars provide for the installation of overpressure valves (using limit switches) and arc protection (when an arc is formed, it immediately shuts off the current supply)

Benefits of our solution
- The personnel protection system is implemented with the use of electrical and mechanical interlocks for switching on during work, rigid partitions between compartments.
- Two-way service ensures the availability of all units for service.
- On the front part of the case there are only controls, switching elements, mode indication. Elements used in service operations are hidden inside the housing.
- Microprocessor-based devices are used in R&A networks, which, when set up, are programmed to perform specific functions depending on the purpose of the cell.
